The Reunion Committee made every effort to produce an event at a reasonable price. Our efforts resulted in the Gar-Field Senior Class of 1989 having the lowest ticket price of all the classes holding reunions in the area (Osbourne Park SHS, Woodbridge SHS, Potomac SHS, TC Williams) .
Our ticket price was achieved by our eliminating the use of an event planner/reunion planner. We also personally assumed responsibility for all event related planning (deposits, mailings, website set-up/administration, and all contractual risks and obligations with vendors).
The selection of a golf club rather than a Northern VA hotel for the site of the reunion resulted in huge savings. Had a hotel been chosen, costs would have increased to more than one hundred dollars per person and could reasonably have reached one hundred and twenty dollars per person. These costs would have, at most, included light appetizers and not the full service meal that will be served to attendees. In addition, there would have been a cash bar for non-alcohol and alcohol beverages. Instead, we were able to include a full service premium open bar for non-alcohol and alcohol beverages for the event.
