In Memory



Ken Trujillo

We take this moment to fondly remember our friends, classmates who have passed away.

Ken did not get a chance to graduate with us, however I know he would have done something wonderful and grand with his life.
I knew Ken personally. He was an old soul. I can remember him having a love for old music especially The Beatles. He was always kind, easy going, and gentle.

 

Ken also worked selling Christmas trees--same place as the fireworks stand up in front of Giant. I worked at Long John Silver's and Ken would come in to warm up and we'd give him some coffee and...he'd make us laugh. Truly a sweet, gentle person.  Heather Gefrich Drane~

Ken and I went to one of those traveling fairs in Woodbridge. We got on a ride that went all around and upside down and rather High..Anyway I talked Ken into riding with me and I thought he was going to have a Heart attack He kept saying, "I am going to get you when we get off this thing"...the whole time screaming like a baby lol..I thought he was kidding around the whole time he was serious...He was shaking when we got off that thing...It was definitely a memorable event. ~Kevin Kinnett

Ken from all of your classmates, we know you are an angel in heaven dancing and singing your favorite oldie song. We miss you and know you are in good hands!

I remember Ken loved to be around the ladies as much as he could and was always passing out his share of hugs as much as he could; he was such a clown and i admired him at times how easily he could blend in with anyone and everyone...i miss you and your hugs and i remember the day i heard you had left us... but yet you really haven't. Roderick "Erick" Olaes

The date was June 6, 1988 but it only seems like yesterday. Ken was a true and good friend. He was always one to welcome people. I miss his laid back and funny attitude. He could always bring a smile to everyones face, regardless of how you were feeling.

I didn't know Ken very well, but I do have a story to share...a memory of him that I will always carry with me...and that I just shared with some friends at work just the other day. For anyone that remembered me in high school, it's no big secret that I was a bit of an odd ball...part nerd, part tom-boy, and complete fashion disaster (truth be known, twenty years later, it's pretty much the same story). I had an extremely hard time fitting in...and only had a couple of friends that I normally ate lunch with. Well, one day, they were both out, so there I sat, completely alone at lunch. Ken walked over and asked if he could sit and eat lunch with me. I was shocked, but very grateful. I swear it was like he could see that I was alone and could really use a kind word and smiling face that day. We made small talk while we ate...I knew him, and it turns out he knew who I was because we had shared a few classes. When we finished eating, he thanked me for my company, and I thanked him for his, but I don't know that he ever knew just how much his kindness that day meant to me. I wish I would have had a chance to let him know...but unfortunately, we didn't speak again before he passed. It's such a very rare thing when someone touches another life so profoundly in just a few minutes that it creates a fond memory that stays with you for lifetime, but Ken did just that. Thanks Ken.

Over the years I have tucked fond memories of Ken and I during class. Ken was a wonderful person who was quite a gentleman, caring and very funny. He use to make me laugh so much. When I learned of Ken's death in school, I can remember feeling very sick and shocked! I attended the memorial service. I have always felt that Ken is one of my angels that has protected me over the years. He left a lifetime of precious memories that will stay with me forever.
